2013
I apparently read a lot last year. 154 to be exact. Since I only started using Goodreads in around March/April last year I think thats a pretty good effort. I have found some amazing books, series' and some awesome authors, both Indie and Mainstream.
Thought I'd put my highlights here. I know we're almost a month into 2014 but as you can see I had a awesome 2013 bookwise.
I was lucky enough to stumble across Infernal Devices Series - Cassandra Clare by complete accident. I love the cover of Clockwork Princess which had just been released. So a little research lead to me to find it was the prequel to the Mortal Instruments Series. It didn't take me long till I was looking for the next set of books to read.
For those who haven't discovered the Hush Hush Saga by Becca Fitzpatrick you are missing out. I loved these books and fell head over heels in love with Patch. These books were definitely a highlight.
Those who have asked me for book recommendations I can guarantee you I've mentioned Fall from Grace and the Mad World Series by Christine Zolendz. I adored the humor in these books. The characters had me in stitches with their witty one liners. As I said in the review the Smartass in me loves these girls. Shane Maxton was definitely high up on my list of Rock Gods to.
2013 was also the year I and many others discovered new Authors and their series's. Was so happy to stumble across Harper Sloan and her Corps Security Series and through her also making the delightful discovery of Crystal Spears and her Breakneck Series.
I went through a Motorbike Man phase like you wouldn't believe, Hence this page dedicated to them (Also this post and this one). I found so many good ones it wasn't funny. So thank you Madeline Sheehan, Joanna Wylde, Kim Jones, Kristen Ashley, Jamie McGuire for all contributing to this obsession.
The Walker Brothers from the Alluring Indulgence Series by Nicole Edwards took up a lot of space inside my little head towards the end of last year. Also Chasing Dreams didn't help matters and now well I'm planning my trip to Texas to find me a Cowboy hehehe.
I fell in love with a boy called Chase in Taking Chances by Molly McAdams. This book crushed me. Was such an emotional read. Definitely a good book!!! I have also managed to forgive Molly since she also gave us Kash in Forgiving Lies.
There were a few other book boyfriend obsessions that I managed to find myself with, Jared from Bully and Until You by Penelope Douglas certainly had a way about him (Once he stopped being a ass), Park Reed from Before Now and Chase Malloy from Long After both books by Cheryl McIntyre have stolen pieces of my heart.
The Edge of Never and The Edge or Always by J.A Redmerski was beautiful. Two of my favourite books from 2013
Some books I connected on such a level that I will be forever thanking the authors for their amazing stories - Making Faces by Amy Harmon, Fighting Redemption by Kate McCarthy and The Time Until by Casey Ford.
Also developed a few healthy/unhealthy Author obsessions to. Pretty sure if these wonderful people wrote me a alphabet book I'd buy it - Abbi Glines, Kristen Ashley, Kristen Proby, Harper Sloan, Crystal Spears, Penelope Douglas, Nicole Edwards, Molly McAdams.
Here's hoping 2014 brings more awesomeness.
