BLOG TOUR - Beautifully Brutal - Nicole Edwards

When I found out that Max and Courtney from Wait For Morning (Sniper 1 Security) were getting their own book and it was going to be part of a spin off series (Southern Boy Mafia) my anticipation level for this book was at a high. I mean seriously what a great combination here, the queen of naughty and nice as the author + smoking hot bad boys + mafia drama = sizzling hot story that would surely turn my kindle to ashes the moment it hit.

After finishing this book I'm glad to say I was right.

Synopsis - Sometimes love isn’t beautiful... Sometimes the only way to describe it is beautifully brutal. If you think you know him… You’re wrong. If you think you know his family… Wrong again. If you think you know his story… You don’t. If you did, you’d likely wonder how the hell a man like Maximillian Adorite managed to make it to this point in his life. At twenty-nine, he’s experienced more than most people could only ever imagine, all thanks to his family. Organized crime they call it. Mafia. No matter how they spin it, it comes down to one thing. Max gets what he wants. Except for the one thing he wants most. Her name is Courtney Kogan. And now that he’s had a taste of her, Max knows he’ll never be able to let her go.

This book is set in two different times. It gives you a look at what happened with Courtney and Max before the events of Wait for Morning and as well as giving us more of whats been happening since then. So reading this story some of it felt familar, it didn't rehash too much of the story but it was interesting to see a situation from a different point of view.

Max comes across as arogant and cocky but I guess being the underboss of a family like that makes this understandable. He's also much more than that when he lays his feelings for Courtney on the table.

Courtney well she's a head strong, independent woman who is caught between a rock and a hard place. She's on the side of the good guys and she's falling for one of the bad guys. I felt for her and the thin line she had to walk in order to try and do what was right, this meant her heart took a back seat for awhile there. I wanted to shake her and say "To hell with everyone else, stop thinking so much and making the situation worse". I loved the glimpses we got of the past dates and watching them fall for each other. It was easy to see that these guys would be on fire just by the way they interacted. Once together well as I said before sizzling hot story that would turn my kindle to ashes.

This is a 4 star for me. I can't wait to see what's next for the Southern Boy Mafia
